tech projects
- After deciding Rudy on Rails (or any framework, really) was a colossal chore, I returned to more low-level programming with C, focusing more on learning to write firmware for CNC systems driven by microcontrollers, as well as just some goofy and pointless CLI tools. It's fun.
- Still working on my other website, but that involves a creating Solo Journaling TTRPG project before I can launch that site. Goal: get the game and site launch before 2026.
life lessons
- Quite settled in to my new apartment. I lost my workspace for larger restoration projects, but I'm moving away from that anyway. It's just too much work and demands too much space, making it a bit of a chore to be as semi-nomadic as my wife and I want to be.
- Hobbies rethought! After eliminating quite a few from the list, my latest hobbies are tinkering with microcontrollers, casebinding books, and running a bookclub on my Discord server.
- I'm finding a little more time to get back into a MUD and retro-gaming again. Yay!
monkey making
- Currently working as the department lead of the service department for a small fabrication shop. I also started serving on the product development team as a troubleshooter. I enjoy the work tremendously, but not so much the horrifyingly mismanaged company.
- Still open to writing gigs, both blog roll and technocal writing, depending. Email me and we'll talk.
arbitrary
- My interest in Game Theory eventually lead me to Information/Communication Theory. I am by no means an expert, but it's all very interesting.
